Excellent value, especially when bought in the promotion pack..
I've been using Ultralingua since around 1999 when it was one of the first electronic dicos for Mac. Version 7 is a huge leap in quality. I'm very satisfied. I'm a professional translator, and use it in conjunction with its thesaurus and with the other Ultralingua bilingual dictionary modules. I've always appreciated its uncluttered resizable interface and results display. The lexical info is excellent and offers more than most dicos in the same price range. There may be an occasional word missing, or the definitions occasionally terse, but it is not a problem. Other dictionaries from large traditional publishers have a similar rate of innacuracies. Very stable application, rarely if ever, causes any crashes. Low memory and CPU consumption. I Pros: Wide vocab base for collegiate and non specialised pro use. Speed: results as-you-type. Excellent interface features and tools especially the built in Forum, and best of all the HOTKEY.
Cons: Minor: Needs some improvement to the selector system when working in with other modules or with multiple languages on one document. Not enough free upgrades. Could do with an 'insert' button to put a found result directly into a work document.
